Marion County is currently under a dense fog advisory until noon today. Visibility remains very low across the advisory area and will continue to be reduced through the morning hours. Accidents due to fog have been reported throughout central Iowa including one in Marion County this morning where a semi entered the median on highway 163 near Monroe. Another accident was reported yesterday afternoon at the intersection of business Highway 5 and Highway 5 when a semi pulling off of business 5 pulled in front of a semi heading north on Highway 5. Pleasantville Emergency Services and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department responded. No injuries were reported. If driving allow for extra travel time, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
