The former Pella Christian High School building is coming down. Asbestos removal in the building, which is owned by Pella Regional Health Center, was recently completed, and plans are for the building to be completely torn down by early May.

When the property was first acquired, Pella Regional had looked into multiple uses for the building, but determined that renovation was not a practical option and felt that the building’s current condition posed a safety risk.

The land where the former school building currently stands will be graded and seeded for aesthetic reasons, while the former concession stand will be used for machinery storage, and the parking lot will continue to be used by employees of Pella Regional Health Center.
