The Knoxville Rural Fire Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies and Marion County Emergency Management responded to a report of a possible hazardous spill at approximately 5:26pm yesterday. A large propane tank was found on Highway 14 near the bridge at Whitebreast north of Knoxville. Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson tells KNIA KRLS news that the tank was completely empty and did not pose any risk. Anderson adds that it is possible the tank washed ashore from Whitebreast and someone attempted to retrieve it but was unsuccessful.
