The Knoxville Girls Basketball team will make their first appearance in the state tournament in 35 years this evening. The Panthers will face Waukon tonight in the first round of the state tournament at Wells Fargo Arena. Both Knoxville and Waukon enter the tournament with 23-1 records, which should result in an exciting game. Panther fans are encouraged to wish the girls luck as they head to Des Moines for the state tournament this afternoon. The team bus will leave the high school at 4 pm and travel west on Randy Wilson Track past Graceland Cemetery. Fans are encouraged to make signs and banners in support of the Panthers and place them along the route.
