The Iowa School Board Association is being investigated for allegations of misuse of taxpayer money and conflict of interest. The private non-profit organization has recently placed their Executive Director on paid leave, pending investigation of her salary. Knoxville schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says he’s “disappointed” and wishes the association would have went public sooner once they had concerns with funding and the allocation of funds. Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer agrees that there are benefits to the services that the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) has provided, but says the recent events have eroded the trust between Iowa schools and the organization.
