For small schools like Melcher-Dallas where numbers aren’t as big, track and field coaches have to be creative to fill all of their events. Coach Jim Crozier says with 20 girls out this season he can put every girl in two events and have a chance to score enough to not only be in contention for the conference title but to get some girls in an event that they can get to the state meet as well. He says firls events are the hardest to fill. Right now he says Delany Jenson will do the high jump while Hayle Branson will compete in the shot put. After that, it is up in the air as to who will do the long jump and discus. He says a few more days of practice should tell the story.
