The Pella School Board proposed a fifteen-cent increase on the District’s Tax levy at this week’s meeting. The increase would bring the proposed property tax rate to $13.99 per $1,000 taxable valuation. Pella Schools Superintendent Mark Wittmer says the board is making a concentrated effort to minimize the impact on taxpayers, and says the proposed fifteen-cent increase compares to an average of 25 to 50 cent increases for most districts across the state. A public hearing on the Pella Community School District budget will be held on April 12th at 4:30 p.m.
