As with nearly every team across the state, the end of a particular sports season marks the final bow for the team’s senior leaders, and it is certainly no different for the Pella girls basketball team. The Lady Dutch will graduate starters Courtney Kelderman and Jordyn Vande Lune, as well as key reserve Whitney Pavlat.

The team had selected those three as captains for this season the previous spring, and Pella Head Coach Jerod Garland says he couldn’t have asked for a better group of leaders to help him in his first year as head coach. The Pella girls finished Garland’s freshman campaign as coach with an 18-5 overall record and came one game away from the program’s eighth trip to state in ten years.
