The Knoxville Police Department, Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, and Knoxville Rural Fire Department responded to an accident at the intersection of McKimber and 110th Place in Knoxville around 8am this morning. An investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s office showed that Kevin James of Knoxville was stopped for oncoming traffic and waiting to turn left onto 110th Place. The second driver, James Adkins of Swan was looking at a mail carrier’s vehicle on the side of the road. When he looked forward he saw James’s vehicle and steered right to avoid a rear end collision but hit the back right of his vehicle with the left front of his. James was transported to the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics with non-life threatening injuries. Adkins was uninjured.
