Residents of Pleasantville are temporarily without drinking water due to a valve break at the city’s water supply plant. Once the break is repaired and water service restored, plant officials recommend residents boil water or use bottled water for consumption until further notice.

Pleasantville City Councilman Jordan Van Ness says that the order is a precautionary measure and will be lifted by Wednesday morning.

Officials at the water supply plant say that once the break is repaired and bacterial samples collected, the boil order will be lifted. Repairs for the break were scheduled for this afternoon.
