Several Republican candidates seeking public office spoke at Saturday’s Marion County Republican Convention in Pella. Those present included Dave Funk, Mark Rees, Brad Zaun, Jim Gibbons and Pat Bertroche, who are all seeking the GOP nomination to challenge incumbent Democratic Congressman Leonard Boswell for Iowa’s Third District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Other candidates who participated in the convention included Iowa Attorney General candidate Brenna Findley, Iowa House incumbent Jim Van Engelenhoven, Marion County Board of Supervisors candidate Craig Again, and Ed Bull, who is seeking the office of Marion County Attorney. Republican State Senator Paul McKinley also addressed the convention, though his seat is not up for election this year.
