The generosity of food donors during the holiday season is always greatly appreciated, but donations are needed year round to help Pella area families and individuals. JoNes VanHecke, Director of the Pella Food Shelf says their stock of popular items such as cereal, macaroni and cheese, and peanut butter and jelly is often low by the end of March, and will be again if past trends are any indication.

VanHecke adds that additional food items that are also always in demand are various types of meat. She says meats or other perishable goods can be donated by contacting her at 628-5249, while non-perishable goods can be dropped off any time in the shopping cart inside the Peace Lutheran Church in Pella.
