Knoxville Schools along with the help of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum, Iowa Speedway, Casey’s General Stores, Morning Kiwanis and Knoxville Team Nutrition hosted “Students, Start Your Engines” this week. The program is in conjunction with National School Breakfast Week which aims to raise awareness about the importance of eating a good breakfast. Connie Boldt, Food Service Director at Knoxville Schools says breakfast can impact students entire day.National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum Executive Director Bob Baker says he was happy to be part of the program. Students and staff in each school received a free breakfast one day this week and were able to visit with racecar drivers and participate in giveaways. The National School Breakfast Week was established in 1989 and raises awareness about the importance of eating a good breakfast and how it contributes to academic achievement and healthy lifestyles.
