Students from High Schools in Pella Earn All-State Speech Nods

A pair of students from each of the high schools in Pella were nominated for All-State at this past weekend’s Individual State Speech Contest in Cedar Rapids. Pella Christian’s Nicole Vande Zande earned All-State honors for her Solo Musical Theatre piece, while Chess VanWyk received top marks in the Prose category.

From Pella Community High School, Andrew Sagers is an All-State nominee in Spontaneous Speaking, with Megan Card also turning in an outstanding performances with her Literary Program. Vande Zande and Sagers are also among the select few who have been invited to perform in their categories at the All-State Speech Festival, which will take place at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls on March 29th.
