Efforts to avoid a deer in the roadway resulted in damages to a cargo trailer Thursday night on Highway 163 in Marion County.  According to an investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, James Steffl of Waverly, Tennessee, lost control of his trailer approximately three miles west of Pella while swerving to miss a deer, resulting in the trailer detaching from the detaching of the trailer which rolled onto its top.  No injuries were reported in the accident, which accounted for approximately $3,000 in damages.
