Iowa’s Revenue Estimating Conference announced a $30 million increase in state funds last week, which could be an early indicator of recovery in the state’s economy. The information was of greatest concern to state lawmakers, who will spend the remainder of the month assembling the state’s budget. State Representative Jim Van Engelenhoven of Pella says while the increase in state revenue was welcome news, he doubts it will have any affect on the current state budget.
