Now that the ice is gone and the weather is warming up, many people will soon be hitting the lakes, and it’s important to keep boat licenses current. According to County Recorder Karen Schwanebeck, all boats in Iowa are renewed at the same time, therefore they expire at the same time of year. 2010 boat renewals are due by April 30th and the fee depends on the size and type of watercraft. Registrations are now valid for 3 years at a time, and renewals can be made at the County Recorders Office, located in the Marion County Courthouse.
