Putting up low numbers in back-to-back rounds, the Central College men’s golf team took second in the 21-team Wartburg Invitational Sunday just two strokes behind 23rd ranked Nebraska Weslyan. Central senior Andrew Townsend took third place with a 144. Meanwhile, Central’s second unit, the White squad, was seventh. Alex Huyser tied for 17th at 150. The good performance by the Dutch builds excitement for the Iowa Conference tournament later in the season as the first 36 holes will be played at this same course. Central heads to Spencer and Storm Lake for the Buena Vista Invitational Friday and Saturday.
