The Central College women’s golf team improved their team score by 30 strokes in the second and final day of the Central College Women’s Spring Invitational yesterday, but it wasn’t enough to get past Wisconsin Eau-Claire, who placed teams in first and second out of the five-team tournament.

The Dutch ended up with a final score of 736, with the Bluegolds taking first with a 647, and Eau Claire’s gold squad taking second with a 685. Central’s Eva Downes shot an 82 on her final 18 holes, finishing in fifth place in the individual standings with a 171 in the 36-hole tournament, which was held at the Bos Landen Golf Club.

Up next for the Central women’s golf team is a road trip to Bloomington, Illinois for the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational next Saturday and Sunday.
