Four multi-event athletes on the Central College track and field teams met NCAA Division III national meet qualifying marks at yesterday’s Dick Young Classic decathlon and heptathlon competition in Grinnell. Leading the way was sophomore Ethan Miller, who won the decathlon with 6,760 points, easily surpassing the qualifying standard of 6,600 and earning the sixth-best score in Division III this season.

On the women’s side, Central’s Jill Ziskovsky won the heptathlon with a personal best 4,423 points, also qualifying her for the national meet and ranking her fourth best in Division III. The Dutch swept the top of the medal stand in the heptathlon, with Carissa Bentz and Caitlin Wilson finishing second and third and also surpassing the NCAA provision mark of 4,100 points.

The remainder of the Central College track and field teams compete at the Wheaton Twilight meet in Illiniois this afternoon.
