39 year old Knoxville resident Christina Cunningham competed in the famed Boston Marathon yesterday and completed the 26.2 mile course in 3:43.20. Cunningham spoke with KNIA/KRLS Sports just minutes after she crossed the finish line and says she was a little disappointed with her time, but the experience and accomplishment is something she’ll never forget. Cunningham was the 10,971st runner to cross the line and 3122nd woman, she also finished 2235th in her division. This is Cunningham’s second marathon and she says she’ll take a little time off to recuperate then plans to resume training and hopes to compete in a third marathon eventually.
