The Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad finished sixth at Tuesday night’s Chariton Relays. One performance that Coach Jeremy Van Engen was pleased with was 100 meter runner Amy Turner. She was seeded second and placed third in a time of :13.47. Van Engen adds he may have figured out the depth issue that was plaguing many of the relays. He says discus thrower Katie Ayers ran the 400 leg of the sprint medley Tuesday night and helped the team to a second place finish. Van Engen adds with Ayers running in certain events, that frees up girls to run events that they can do well in. Knoxville travels to Carlisle tonight, the boys will travel to Grinnell.
