The Pella Public Library is hosting “Food for Fines” this week to allow patrons a chance to pay off their overdue fines by donating non-perishable food items. For every food item donated, a dollar in fines will be taken off of an account, up to five dollars. The program applies to overdue fines only, and cannot be used against fees for lost or damaged materials or other charges. “Food for Fines” will donate all of the food items collected during National Library Week to the Pella Food Shelf.
