Four Master Gardeners from across Iowa are in Knoxville today for the 9th annual Garden Gala. The event is sponsored by the Knoxville Federated Garden Club and features Veronica Lorson Fowler from Ames presenting the Top 20 Perennials, Gary Whittenbaugh of Oelwein who specializes in trough gardening, Iowa State University Professor of Horticulture Dr. Cynthia Haynes talking about vegetable gardening, and Knoxville Middle School Family and Consumer Science teacher Mary Hanna with canning tips. The event takes place in Dyer-Hudson hall on the Marion County Fairgrounds today and proceeds go to the Knoxville Federated Garden Club for community projects.
