The installation process has begun for the new Attica storm siren.  According to Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson, the cost of the siren itself was $12,000 and with additional cost of $6,000 for the installation.  Anderson says once the equipment is installed, MidAmerican Energy will hook it up to electricity and crews will make it accessible for dispatch to activate the siren.  Anderson says they are hoping the siren will be operational by the end of this week, but it’s possible it may take until the end of the month for everything to finalized.
