The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday evening. At the meeting the board approved the 2010-2011 district budget which Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says will result in a small property tax increase for the next year.

The board also approved several resignations and coaching contracts including resignations of Head Varsity Football Coach Chris Hudson, Northstar Elementary special education teacher Melinda Vos, Middle School associate Kris Hughes, West Elementary food service worker Pat McMillan, football and wresting cheerleader sponsor Trish Wadle, and coaching contracts for 9th grade softball coach Eric Fee and assistant 8th grade football coach Jason Carter.

In addition, they approved participation in the Iowa School Cash Administration Program and discussed the sale or lease of school-owned facilities with hopes of selling the Trabert Center in the near future, along with a review of plans to use the Microsoft settlement funds and possible elimination of the part time activities director secretary position.
