In a game that included a flurry of offensive activity late in the second period, the Pella boys soccer team picked up two huge goals and earned an impressive 3-1 home win over Dallas Center-Grimes last night. The Little Dutch scored on a strike by Tyler Elliot in the 20th minute of the first half and carried that one goal lead well into the second period, until the Mustangs were able to get deep into Pella’s defense and knot the game up at 1-1 with 15 minutes left.

The Little Dutch responded with a Deckar Lynch goal on a wide-open look with 7 minutes remaining, after Lynch created pressure on the defense and the keeper during a back pass. With 4 minutes remaining, Grant Barrick provided a little insurance with a hard shot into the left side of the goal to make the score 3-1. The Pella boys are now 3-0 this season, with all three victories coming this week.

Goals:

Tyler Elliott (Spencer Boeyink assist) 20′ 1st Half
Deckar Lynch 7′ 2nd Half
Grant Barrick (Blake Bogaard assist) 4′ 2nd Half
