After budget cuts and reorganization at the Iowa State Extension Office earlier this year, one Knoxville resident has found a way to remain active with the office in a new position. Dale Miller took an early retirement in January after his position of Education Director was eliminated, he since as accepted a new position with the extension office as the County Program Director. Miller says he looks forward to being able to spend more time responding to the needs of people in Marion County. Miller and the extension office council work with county 4-H, the Natural Resources Conservation, Farm Service Agency, Master Gardeners and local residents to improve the lives of those in Marion County.
