It was a near sweep of Little Hawkeye Conference foe Newton for the Pella High girls tennis team yesterday, as the Lady Dutch downed the Cardinals 10-1 in Newton. Pella swept singles play, highlighted by a third-set tiebreaker win by Hillary Nossaman at No. 1 singles. The Lady Dutch’s only loss came at No. 3 doubles. Head Coach Margene VanHorn said she thought the team showed improvement in doubles play, citing sharper play at the net as a reason for the girls’ success.
