The Pella girls track team starts their season today and the boys look for their third straight win as both squads head to Nevada.

Coach Dak Rasmussen says they’re excited to get the outdoor season started and looks forward to the competition they’ll face at Nevada today. He says they have a few events they feel could qualify for the Drake Relays later this month including Maddy Davis who qualified last year in the 800, and says they are assembling a team of sprinters to try and qualify in the 4×100 and 4×400 as well so every meet is important early. He says areas he’ll be watching today include conditioning for the distance runners, as well as overall form, handoffs on relays and how the girls step up to the competition in their first meet.

The Pella boys who have won both of their outdoor meets this season will also be competing in Nevada tonight. Coach Brent Van Hauen says Nevada is a good tune up meet for them to get ready for a tough Panther Relays in Knoxville Saturday. Action starts at 5pm.
