Rollover on Highway 5 South of Knoxville

According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office an accident occurred northbound on HWY 5 approximately one fourth mile north of the intersection with Quebec at approximately 5:21pm yesterday. Samantha Davis of Oskaloosa lost control of her vehicle after being distracted by a child in the vehicle. While attempting to tend to the child Davis drove off the roadway into the right ditch. At that time she corrected the action and lost control, causing the vehicle to cross the center lane and enter the southbound ditch. The vehicle rolled one and a half times and came to rest on its top. Marion County Sheriff’s deputies were Southbound on HWY 5, witnessed the accident and were first on the scene. Knoxville Fire and Rescue and Knoxville Rural Fire Department responded to assist at the accident. The driver and child were transported to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics for possible injuries.
