Rain water that had collected on the roof of the Pella Public Safety Complex came flowing through the ceiling of the Pella Police Department Communications Center on Tuesday night, temporarily disabling services. Quick action by the dispatcher and senior officer on duty prevented any damage to the communications equipment, but service was temporarily routed through the Marion County Sheriff’s Office for 14 hours while the mess was cleaned up and tests were conducted to ensure that service could be safely restored.
