Residents in several Marion County communities are returning their census forms at a higher percentage rate than national and state averages. That’s according to data made available Friday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

According to the figures, 68% of citizens nationally have returned their census forms, and 75% of Iowans have. Of Marion County communities, Pella neighborhoods have a 77 to 84 percent response rate, Knoxville is at 73 to 80 percent, and between 74 to 80 percent of Pleasantville residents have completed the surveys.

Melcher-Dallas and Bussey are close to Iowa’s average response rate, and 74 and 72 percent, respectively. It’s not too late to send in your census forms; though census takers will soon begin visiting homes that did not mail their forms in.
