Many colorful blooms are starting to pop up around Pella, but is it too early for the tulips? Marilyn Rietveld Ebbers, a Master Gardener from Pella says the popular perennials are opening a little ahead of schedule, saying that a spell of cool weather would help keep the colorful flowers around a little longer. She adds that wind is also an enemy of the fragile tulip, but says the good news is that a wide variety of early, mid, and late-season tulip varieties should ensure plenty of the colorful blooms for Pella’s 75th Annual Tulip Time festival.
