Waters Still High at Red Rock

The water level at Lake Red Rock still remains well above normal, though the depth has been slowly declining during the past several days of dry, sunny weather in the region. Thursday morning, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Lake Red Rock reported a depth of 767.70 feet, which is a little over 25 feet above normal levels.

The Red Rock dam is currently releasing water at a rate of 30,000 cubic feet per second, and new water continues to flow into the reservoir at a rate of over 19,000 cubic feet per second. Much of the water stored in the Red Rock Reservoir is what remains from the large amount of melted snow pack that flowed into the lake’s basin earlier this spring.
