Katie Tenboer, a first baseman for the Central College softball team, has been named Iowa Conference softball position player of the year. The junior from Morrison, Illinois has been a beast at the plate for the Dutch, batting a team high .400 with a .692 slugging percentage – which is the third-highest in school history.

Tenboer, or “T-Bo” as she’s known by her teammates, has also blasted eight home runs this season, which ranks second on Central’s all-time charts and has tallied a school record 40 RBIs. She is joined by three other Central players on the all-conference honors list. Second baseman Angela Davis was named to the first team, while pitcher Kiley Lythberg and right fielder Laura Braun were named to the second team.
