Marion County emergency response personnel will be able to familiarize themselves with hazardous material incident equipment and procedures on Monday. Marion County has a haz mat services contract with the Des Moines Fire Department and the Hazmat 1 equipment and crew will be making a visit to Knoxville to train and educate our local first responders. The Des Moines Fire Department has been able to purchase new and additional equipment recently through grant funds and will bring these items to the area for display and discussion. The training will take place Monday evening in the Knoxville Township Fire Department parking lot.
