While the future of the Knoxville VA campus remains in question, Knoxville Chamber of Commerce President James Washington says he sees nothing but opportunities for the facilities. Washington says he has heard a lot of concern in the community that the campus could go into blight and because of that he as put together a business plan that illustrates what he feels are practical options for the facilities. The plan includes a variety of options for use including telemarketing, hotels, night life, retail and housing. Washington also states that he hopes to retain the Community Based Outpatient Clinic within the campus as well.
