The Little Hawkeye Conference Track and Field Meet is today in Newton. This is the last regular season meet before Districts on Friday and the Pella boys have a chance to accomplish something that has never been done at Pella High by winning every meet in the regular season. Coach Brent Van Hauen says the big goal is to win the District meet Friday and qualify a lot of events for state, but they also want to continue the success they’ve had so far this season by winning the conference meet and finishing undefeated in the regular season. He says being two days after Tulip Time may be a bit of a dis advantage for them, but they did get several workouts in last week and he feels they’ll be ready. Pella has been off since last Tuesday when they won the Little Dutch Relays in Pella. Pella may be teh favorites, however, the Knoxville boys they have a goal of winning. But to do that says Coach Mike Cunningham the Second some things have to fall their way. He adds his team will score, and hopes to score enough points to take away the team title. Cunningham thinks it will be more than just a Knoxville vs. Pella meet. He says each team has several athletes that can win a race at any time
