A private family service for Lucille Cozad Blackburn, aged 92 of Knoxville and formerly of Albia, will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Pella. The Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille graduated from Albia High School and later moved to Knoxville after marrying Clarance Blackburn of Springfield, Illinois. There, Lucille worked for the Veterans Administration until retirement.

Always energetic, Lucille Blackburn participated in Eastern Star for over 50 years. She also served on the Election Board and the Senior Citizens Board, and was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville for most of her life.

In her latter years, she discovered a passion for travel with friends and family, and visited many countries in Asia and Europe, frequently staying for months at a time with her daughter, Joyce, and her family.

Lucille is survived by her daughter Joyce (Ricardo) Larrabure, her grandchildren Nicholas and MacKenzie, and her sister, Miriam. Her parents, her husband, and her brother Jacob preceded her in death.
