“I would like to nominate Connie Azinger for teacher of the month. She teaches second grade at Twin Cedars Elementary. She is a hard working and dedicated teacher. This year there is only one second grade with 24 students and she goes the extra mile for each and every one of her students. I am privileged to be the full time associate in her classroom this year. Here are a few of the things her students had to say:
She makes us laugh and eat snacks in class. She makes holidays special. At Halloween we made bat windsocks. During Thanksgiving we wrote stores about “If turkeys could talk” and “If I were a turkey”, then we got to make turkeys and hang in our room. Christmas time we got to make gingerbread houses and we all got to bring some kind of candy for our houses. She also gave each of us a box of crayons and a book. We got to wear our pajamas to school one day and watch the Polar Express movie, and we even had tickets and had hot chocolate and snacks it was so much fun. Presidents day we made Abraham Lincoln and George Washington hats and got lots of fun activity pages to do. St. Patrick’s Day we got to write Leprechaun stories those were a blast, we also colored leprechauns. We are studying about the pioneer days and we made covered wagon books and got to watch Little House on the Prairie. She is teaching us multiplication and division which is very fun. She makes math fun, we use Geo boards and number wraps, and we got to use jelly beans and noodles to learn multiplication. Sometimes she will make math mistakes on purpose just to make sure we are paying attention. We learn new spelling words and get to read new stories every week that go with our lab pages. We celebrated 101 days of school by making dalmation projects and we even got to watch the movie and made hats with ears they were cool. She gives us fun activities. She is nice. She helps us when we need it. She is the funnest and nicest teacher. She is the number one teacher in the building. She is my favorite teacher ever. Sometimes she reads us funny stories like Junie B Jones and even talks like Junie. SHE’S THE BEST.
