If you haven’t reserved a campground yet near Lake Red Rock for the Memorial Day Weekend, you’re probably out of luck. Campgrounds operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as Elk Rock State Park and Roberts Creek Park are all nearly completely full, save for a limited number of non-electric tent campsites.

Lake Red Rock Park Ranger Tracy Spry says the Howell Station, North Overlook, Wallashuck and Whitebreast campgrounds on the lake were already mostly full by the early part of this past week.

Mike Kalkwarf, Park Ranger at Roberts Creek adds that holiday weekends are always a busy time for area campgrounds, but warm, sunny weather in the forecast helped fill up sites a little quicker than normal for the Memorial Day Weekend.
