The Natural Resources Conservation Service is celebrating their 75th Anniversary. Marion County District Conservationist Jay Jung says the organization started as the Soil Conservation Service back in 1935 and has since changed their name since they focus on a variety of topics. Jung says throughout their lifespan thus far the organization has become more encompassing and now take on more responsibilities. Jung says spring is one of the busiest times of the year for his office but they are always willing answer questions and provide assistance to Marion County residents. The Natural Resources Conservation Service can be reached at 641-842-5314.
