The PCM and Pella boys golf teams took part in a late-season tune-up yesterday in New Sharon at the North Mahaska Invitational. The Mustangs’ top four scores were in the 30s, resulting in a team score of 141, which gave them a commanding 17-stroke victory over host North Mahaska. PCM also had both medalists, as Nick Peters shot a 32, while Matt Jennings fired a 33 for runner-up medalist.
Pella Christian’s boys played significantly better than Saturday at Colfax-Mingo and finished in third place with a team score of 159. The Eagles’ were led by Derek Fox, who placed third individually with a 35. Pella Christian was just one stroke behind North Mahaska for second place. Sectional golf tournaments begin on Friday.
