Members of the Pella Christian girls and boys track and field squads will hope for some of their best runs, jumps and throws today, as the Eagles compete in the District Track Meet with bids to the State Track Meet on the line. Pella Christian girls Head Coach Jeanetta Nieuwsma summed it up well, by saying a lot of the emphasis at this point of the season is on the mental aspects of the meet.

“Everyone is doing well individually, and I think just making sure that we’re running smart races and really concentrating our technique for our jumping an throwing will be important to get us where we think we need to be,” said Nieuwsma. “We just want to keep doing well in our relays, and I think our long jumpers have hopes of doing well too.”

Pleasantville is also amongst the 12-team District Meet field. The Class 2-A, District 6 Meet is being held in Ogden.
