The Pella girls soccer team closed out regular season play last night as the sixth-ranked Lady Dutch hosted No. 2 Dallas Center-Grimes. Despite battling evenly with the Fillies, a pair of defensive lapses by Pella resulted in the game’s only goals, as Dallas Center-Grimes scored once in each period to claim a 2-0 victory.

Though the Lady Dutch made some strong runs on offense, they were unable to get many looks at the opposing goal, and were outshot 15-3 by the Fillies. Pella keeper Kelsey Fynaardt was credited with six saves for the game, while DC-G’s keeper stopped two shots. The Pella girls now begin Regional Soccer tournament play on Tuesday against the winner of Pella Christian and Oskaloosa.
