After holding the upper hand in dual meets all season long, the Pella girls tennis team saw their streak come to an end yesterday, as they were defeated by state powerhouse Waterloo Columbus in the Class 1-A Regional Semifinals.

Pella head coach Margene VanHorn said Hillary Nossaman and Nicole Oliver and No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, each had strong runs in their matches, and Megan Card played her best tennis of the season at No. 6 singles; but in the end, the Sailors were just too strong, as they swept the Lady Dutch 5-0 in straight sets for each match.

Pella finishes the season with a 10-1 record in duals play and will have their No. 1 singles and doubles playing at the Individual State Tournament in Iowa City on June 3rd and 4th.
