Pella High School Seniors Take Part in Commencement

Hundreds of friends and family members of Pella Community High School’s Class of 2010 filled the Kuyper Fieldhouse at Central College to celebrate the seniors graduation from high school. Seniors Maria Mate-Kodjo and Richie Bales were selected by their classmates to speak as class representatives, while former Pella teacher Wendy Vander Linden was chosen to deliverthe keynote address.

There were 158 students who received diplomas, and 57 of them graduated with honors. The occasion also marked the final high school graduation ceremony for Pella High School Principal Mark Lee, who is retiring later next month. Assistant Principal Eric Nelson has been chosen has his replacement.

There is one graduation left in the Marion County area, as seniors at PCM High School will receive their diplomas at 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the PCM High School.
