Pella’s doubles team of Jared Gerber and Max Weseman ended their high school tennis careers with an eighth place finish in the Class 1A State Doubles Tournament at Byrnes Park Tennis Complex in Waterloo yesterday. After going 2-1 in competition Friday, the Little Dutch duo were defeated by a team from Cherokee, Washington 6-7, (5-7) and 4-6 which put them in a rematch situation in the seventh place match with the doubles team of Andy Stefanik/Alex Knoot of Oskaloosa where they were defeated 2-6, 3-6.
