The class 2A and 1A boys State Track and Field Meet will have a Marion County flavor as 11 events have qualified.In class 2A, Pleasantville’s four-by-200 and 800 meter relay teams are in. P-C-M will be very busy as five events have qualified including Jordan Van Roekel in two events the 400 and the 400 hurdles. Also Jake Potter in the 3200, Joe Gilson in the 110 hurdles, and the Mustangs Shuttle Hurdle Relay Squad. In class 1A, Melcher-Dallas got its four-by-100 and 200 meter relay teams and the distance medley relay. Also Freshman Ross Dawson form Melcher-Dallas has qualified in the discus. On the girls side, P-C-M has qualified four events. The shuttle hurdle relay, four-by-100 and 200, and Jordan Wood qualified for the long jump. Class 1A is still unofficial as of this time. According to the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, there was a timing discrepancy discovered. They should release the official qualifying list today.
